Decorations for funerals

Dignified table setting

After the loss of a loved one, your customers are often accompanied by grief and pain. Funeral homes offer important support during this difficult time. The right table decorations for the funeral can create a loving atmosphere in which the bereaved can come together and share their memories. We would like to introduce you to the most important aspects of suitable decorations.

The funeral is an important ceremony for the bereaved. The mourners come together to commemorate the deceased and share memories. The right table decorations play a special role in this.

The funeral service table decorations should emphasize the sad occasion with dignity and create a comfortable atmosphere for the guests. It is therefore a good idea to choose decorations that radiate simple elegance, but at the same time are rather restrained.in the western world, black is considered the color of mourning. Accordingly, black decorative elements are often chosen for funeral services, but are not a must. Black elements should set accents, not dominate the atmosphere. The table decorations at a funeral service should be discreet and understated.

Recommended elements for the table design

To create a simple, reverent atmosphere for a funeral service, suitable table decorations are crucial. You can pay attention to the following elements when choosing decorations:

You can influence the atmosphere of a funeral service to a certain extent by choosing the color of the decorative elements. Classic colors for funeral services are black, white and subtle shades of grey. With a combination of black, white and gray elements, you can create a simple but elegant ambience. Alternatively, you can also use colorful accents in the table decorations for a funeral service to lighten up the atmosphere. Each color creates a special mood and also carries a meaning. Green accents symbolize peace, tranquillity and closeness to nature, while blue elements stand for solidarity, remembrance and longing. Yellow or orange tones signal warmth and fulfillment.

In addition to the color, the type and material of the napkin also play a role. For a funeral service, you can choose between paper napkins and cloth napkins. Paper napkins are a good choice for funeral services - they are designed for single use and are a hygienic option for larger celebrations or multiple courses. In addition, paper napkins are available in many colors, patterns and designs so that they can be perfectly integrated into the decor style of the celebration. They are now available in a fabric-like feel and have a correspondingly high-quality and exclusive feel. At funeral services, soft napkins can also provide a little comfort by nestling comfortably in the hands of the guests. Depending on the setting of the funeral service, different types and sizes of napkins are also available. Large dinner napkins in various styles are a good choice for a reverent dinner. If a lunch or funeral coffee is planned, lunch napkins are ideal. If required, you can also order pre-folded napkins or napkin pockets for your celebration, which are ready for immediate use.

The folding and presentation of the napkin can also contribute to the overall impression of the table decoration. For a classic decoration, it is a good idea to place the napkin next to the plate. Napkin pockets are another option for stylish decoration of the funeral service.

Alternative: also present folded napkins on the plate

There are no limits to creativity when it comes to folding. Classic sails or double sails as well as hearts or flowers can be folded. If a religious reference is desired, small angels can also be folded from napkins, for example.

The tablecloth forms the basis of the funeral service table decorations. The decoration should be simple and not obtrusive.
Black is the color of mourning. A black tablecloth, on the other hand, quickly makes the entire room appear dark. White or cream-colored tablecloths are more suitable as a base. However, tablecloths or table runners in a subtle gray can also form a calm basis for the table decorations.

Candles in particular play an important role at funeral services. On the one hand, they symbolize transience; on the other, their warm light provides comfort and hope. White candles look stylish and discreet, while matt gray or pastel shades with a mottled surface are also elegant.

As an alternative to real candles, LED lights can also enhance the table decorations at a funeral service. LED stumps and lamps can create a similarly cozy atmosphere as real candles. Different light colors and brightness levels can also be selected. For funeral services, you should make sure to use LEDs with warm light to create a comforting atmosphere.

Flowers can be used to lovingly and individually enhance the table decorations at the funeral service. For example, you can place the deceased's favorite flowers on the funeral table to create a personal connection.

The white rose, which stands for love, devotion and tenderness, is also a popular choice. For funerals and mourning ceremonies, the rose is often combined as an arrangement with gypsophila. Forget-me-nots are also popular as table decorations, as their meaning is already in their name.

In addition to various flowers, ivy is also a frequently used element at funeral services. Ivy symbolizes loyalty, immortality and eternal life. The subtle leaves of the ivy in lush green blend naturally into the overall look of the funeral decorations. A little tip: ivy also looks great in wreaths, combined with a few flowers, for example
