Whether nigiri, maki or inside-out rolls: every type of sushi fits in sushi boxes. Depending on the size of the box and the sushi, many different parts find their place. Many places offer the option to create a custom box of your favorite sushi pieces. For larger orders, make sure that vegetarian rolls and those with fish or meat (if possible) are in separate boxes. This is especially important for vegetarian and/or vegan guests. In addition, nigiri and maki rolls should be transported separately. This is especially important for the appetizing appearance. However, you can also offer ready-made boxes containing, for example, makis with avocado and cucumber, nigiris with salmon, shrimp or tuna, and inside-out rolls coated with fish roe or sesame seeds.
Once guests have decided on their favorite sushi, it can be packed into the sushi box. What can't be missing are garnishes like wasabi. Japanese horseradish is a spicy paste that is a favorite with sushi. The paste finds a place nicely draped in a corner of the sushi box. Pickled ginger is also a must for sushi boxes. You can arrange the ginger either next to the wasabi or in another corner of the box. Since the sushi is traditionally dipped in soy sauce, it is important to provide the sauce for guests. If the sushi is taken home, this can be offered in small bottles.
Tip: Do not pack the seaweed salad (wakame) in the same box as the sushi or the liquid will get into the rice and the pieces may fall apart. Hot foods such as chicken skewers should be packed separately to keep the sushi cold.
Napkins and chopsticks
In addition to the sushi and the appropriate side dishes, the guests must of course also be provided with the right cutlery. Traditionally, the specialty is eaten with chopsticks. These are available in metal or wood, for example. In the take-away sector, disposable tableware and therefore wooden chopsticks are mostly used, as they can be disposed of after use. In addition, wooden chopsticks are environmentally friendly. Napkins should always be ready and packed in the take-away bag, as the sushi is dipped in soy sauce and therefore soy stains can quickly appear on the table or clothes. Paper napkins are suitable for the sushi to-go, and cloth napkins in restaurants.

Sushi boxes: an all-rounder
Since sushi boxes are grease and water resistant, you can of course use them not only for sushi, but also for other specialties. How about pieces of cake, for example? Thanks to the transparent lid, the contents of the box are clearly visible and can be arranged nicely - ideal for homemade cake pieces. Also cookies, nuts or other small snacks find their place in the box. Thus, a sushi box can be used in many ways and is therefore the optimal box for the take-away area.
